Mr Barratt was looking for a traditional handmade kitchen design in keeping with his 300-year-old property. He gave a very open brief to us with details of the room, the specification of the appliances and a budget to work with. He wanted a traditional kitchen design with a modern twist so we set to work with our kitchen designer.
We left exposed brickwork between the units to keep the character of the property but complemented this with solid timber handmade kitchen cupboards finished in the beautiful paint colour named ‘Elephant’s Breath’ made by Farrow and Ball.
Again in keeping with an old kitchen, we installed a Belfast sink but with the modern feature of a quartz drip tray and quartz work surfaces and unique storage features throughout.
Finally, we designed and handmade a large island unit with an integrated fridge and breakfast bar area. This was finished with a 60mm thick oak work surface and painted in the colour ‘Mizzle’ from Farrow and Ball.
- Installation of hand-painted traditional wooden kitchen
- Bespoke Island design and manufacture
- Installation of quartz surfaces
“Tony and Neil put a lot of thought and effort into our kitchen design and worked with us to incorporate units just to two walls of the kitchen to allow us to feature our beautiful bare brick/flint wall. Their idea for the island gave us significantly more work surface and cleverly allowed for an integrated fridge, power points and a breakfast bar. They make a great team and we would happily recommend them.” Mr & Mrs Barratt, Flamstead
